Author’s Note:
Chai tea truly is the best drink to have when you are feeling down. Filled with spices and deep aromatics, a cup of chai warms the body with each sip, even when iced (which is my personal favorite).
You will need:
- Black Tea – one tea bag (my personal favorite is Harney and Son’s Paris Tea)
- Ground Cinnamon – 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon Sticks – 1 stick
- Ground Ginger – 1 teaspoon
- Ground Cloves – 1 teaspoon
- Maple Syrup – 1 tablespoon (start with one, then add to taste)
- Milk of Choice – 1/2 cup (soy milk is my favorite)
- Ice (to taste)
Step One:
Brew one cup of tea (8 ounces). Put in container with sealed lid.
Step Two:
In container, add maple syrup, cloves, cinnamon, and ginger. Shake well with lid.
Step Three:
Chill overnight.
Step Four:
Fill a glass with ice 1/3 of the way up. Then, add tea 1/3 more of the way up. Finally, top off with milk and fill the glass. Stir with a straw and enjoy!
