A Look Inside

The community I am a part of, that I serve, which in turn gives my life color and purpose. This is the truest form of my inspiration as a writer.

Orange belt ceremony. A historical moment, as I was the first student to be promoted in the Women’s Class.

Blue belt ceremony. Here I am standing with my professor, Ashley (left). The banner above sports the name, Rolljunkie, my dad’s jiujitsu company.

The Women’s Class at Pure MMA! This picture was taken after a particularily brutal rolling session, in which I faced four blue belts back to back (not advisable).

Pizza delivery day. After hand-making over sixty pies, my friend and I delivered them to several nursing homes across the county.

The Soothing Paws Program. Us volunteers were able to learn about the unique initiative that brings comfort and joy to the medical center’s patients, visitors, and team members with specially trained therapy animals.

Hospital orientation day. As a volunteer, this marked my first day of service with Atlantic Health.

Sleepout 2024. I spent the night outside to raise money for the Covenant House’s programs, as well as raise awareness for youth homelessness.

Sleepout 2023. This was the coldest night on record, reaching a flat temperature of 10 degrees. Here I am (right) with my friend (left) halfway through the night.

Spanish exchange program. The night before the first day of school, we celebrated the Spaniard’s arrival with sparklers. Here I am with my Spanish exchange student, Elsa (left, blue shirt), and other NA students.

Special Olympics, 2024. Here is a picture of the flowers I organized by color. Most athletes like to have the flower match their jerseys, so sorting them together makes it easy to hand them out.

Special Olympics, 2024. Here I am handing out a flower to an athlete. Red, to match his shirt, as per his request.

Challenger’s Soccer, 2024. My second season coaching the challengers. This is the kids’ overall favorite drill, “cone maze.” The four mentors in this picture are my brothers Sebastian, Ollie, Max, and I (teal shirts).

My second home, North Carolina. Here I am making empanadas with my cousin Olivia (left) and my abuela (right).
